What have I been doing?

I have been getting emails asking why I haven't updated the blog in the last while. (Except of course, Pete & Nancy's fine contributions!) I have undertaken a house project that keeps me busy between gigs. Here is a few shots of my home, known to all as "Ugly Betty".
Notice the "Stylish" velvet drapery...
Well Ugly Betty started life somewhere around 1908 and has seen many structural changes over the years. I suspect that around 1970 the house was renovated with the lattes in fashion, to include carpet and wall paper. Since then nothing changed.....
Here is the part most people think I am crazy for, that is I moved from a brand new three year old house with state of the art energy efficiency, to U.B.
WHY?
Well for those of you who do not know the area here, Saskatchewan is flat, and big. Our population is around 1 million for the total province. We have nothing but land....
However our city feels that to make the most efficient use of infrastructure, we need to build houses on top of each other and so close together you can hear your neighbour fart at 3 AM.
Not only that but I hold a soft spot for a developed neighbourhood. Trees, boulevards and a little character keeps me from going off the deep end at times. The other cool thing is that I now live three blocks from the Broadway area of town. This is where it all happens, so after a late night of gigging at Bud's I can easily walk home once the $320 bar tab is paid....
Here are some random shots of the progression

The sad part is that over the years some one nailed the crap out of the hard wood so most is not salvageable, and under all that groovy French Provincial styled wall paper is cracked plaster.
My dry wall talents are improoving! Stay tuned for the after shots........ I hope.....
