Finally some better weather... time for a rant

Yes I have been neglecting the blog. Still up to my eye balls in home reno's and lots going on at work. You all know the deal, your all in the same boat, that is busy with something we call life.

Some of us however have things a little better, but I should be quick to add it is by there own design and hard work.

This doesn't mean I have to like it, and I can still be jealous.

Take my friend Mike for example. He retired at a very early age and spent all this winter in the south of France. Mike was nice enough to send me a photo of him hard at work sampling the local food at some dump of a restaurant... (like I said I can still be jealous) Things must have been bad cause he seems to be doing a lot of drinking. .. At least that's what I'll tell myself.

You can tell by the smug look on his face he is saying to the camera " Hey Monty, it's Tuesday I just got out of bed at 10:00 and I'm drunk. In fact I am still wearing my pajamas...have fun trying to start your car today as I saw on line that it's -32c in Toon Town. p.s. I can speak French but I don't....I just don't give a crap."

I caught up with Mike on his return to Canada. He came back just in time to play six different shows over the St. Paddy's day weekend. Truly the hardest working Celtic band I know....good thing he was still drunk.

I'm starting to feel really old. My buddy Trevor and the crew went out to the Roxy to catch some "Holy Mother Of Metal" band and I didn't want to go. I couldn't picture myself trying to talk to my friends by yelling over the pant shaking volume of some guy playing thrasher guitar riffs at the speed of light. Do you remember Beaker from the Muppet show? Imagine him as an auctioneer....except through a Marshall amp.

I am old. I don't understand the singers in the death metal bands. I mean I really can't understand what they are singing. I watched "I Am Legend" the new Will Smith movie. (Kind of like the Omega Man from years back) The mutants all must have been hired from these bands cause it seemed to me to be the same. Sort of like Lou when he is hung over and afflicted with whiskey voice making low grunts like he is trying to communicate by using a primal version of Morse Code. We've all been there, just never though you could make a career out of it.

Yep I'm old. My friend Jr. took exception to me being such a sissy and staying in to watch TV that he kept phoning me at all hours of the night threatening to come over. I should have gone cause my mind was about as exciting as the show I was watching.....

I think this would make a cool band poster.

Speaking of, check out the Viva Las Vegas web site. We have our time slot booked and just about everything ready to go. Cam and Lou have been working relentlessly filling out forms and documents to allow us over the boarder. We have even joined the Musician's Union.

My friend Ray will be proud.

So if all is in place we'll be shaking it out in Vegas for the biggest car show in the world. Stay tuned for pics of your man Lou Spaghetti wrestling with all takers!

Lou and Cam have really busted there asses getting this done. Vegas should be fun, I mean I hope I have better luck on the slots than I do with my love life.

Were going to do a gig at Bobby's Place in Moose Jaw. This should prove to be a much needed gig prior to the VLV show. I hope I can find my guitar under this pile of lumber and drywall...I got to do some practising.

I am still freaked out with William Shatner's version of Rocket Man.

I watched for a minute, then clicked off cause it was so weird....then I had to go back....again and again.

I am Old and obviously sick.

And I think it's going to be a long long time till touch down brings me back again.....

Last, here is a new pic from Trevor. He will have this bike together for Cycle Mania. We couldn't play this event this year cause were going to Vegas... in case you haven't heard.

Dan Delray and the Demons are doing the job this year. There friend of our from Regina (sounds like a queen right?)

You got to love those flames. Way to go Too Tall!! Dude, you need to pin stripe my guitar for me!

What the hell was William Shatner thinking?

More cool bike project pics

Well were finally able to see the end of winter, so I deleted all those posts bashing any of my buddies that went on a "warm" vacation..... YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE

Anyway, still busting out the house Reno's and playing. We have some updates on that soon.

During the winter most of my friends like to hibernate and surf the net, no doubt for the naughty stuff, but I have a couple of buddies (see earlier posts) that put there time and talent to good use and get the winter bike building bug. It's like an addiction or the primal need to create, but every year you can find guys like Trevor and Too Tall hovering over the latest creations soon to come alive out of the deepest darkest corners of there garages.

Check out these pics of the latest creation by Trevor Butler, and painted by Too Tall. (dude update your web site!!)

I hear this one will be for sale. It features a rigid frame with air ride seat and a 116 cui motor
