The new Gretsch line G5120

I noticed on various USA web sites that particular Gretsch guitars were up for sale that were not available in Canada. I thought I would take a chance and order one through a relative in the US, then have it forwarded here. First, with the Internet, shopping has become a global sport. To say something in not available through retailers in Canada is just stupid, especially when this retailer sells the balance of the Gretsch line. Second UPS SUCKS, plain and simple. They are freight pirates and take pleasure in screwing you every chance they get. To have a guitar shipped from Arizona to Saskatoon cost me $260cdn dollars, then they wanted an additional $86.00 in broker fees. The last time I had one sent via regular post it cost a total of $125 with broker fees and taxes. However the store I purchased it from gave me a really good deal and this off set the shipping cost. Just remember UPS Sucks. This guitar is nice, it is an "Electromatic" model. For the money I can take it on the road and if it gets beat up (which it will) that's o.k. I can see why a 6120 is more money, but is it really worth $1800 more?? I think not. So I intend to use it with the stock strings right out of the box on Saturday night.

The guys at Gretsch should think that the 6120's are made off shore and should in my opinion have a retail sticker not exceeding $1600. The 5120's are also off shore and can be picked up for under $600. For the $2400 plus dollars they want for a 6120 you would think that they would not use a floating bridge. What kind of rockabilly player wants a tail piece that is going to kill the intonation every time you pack it in the case? Anyway I own two Electromatics now and will probably look for the guy who wants to make a deal for these two, some cash and in return I get the holy grail of rockabilly guitars the G6120.....
or better yet HOW ABOUT A GRETSCH ENDORSEMENT HU????
