Hot rod hullabaloo

Here is something cool! A small Indy film crew is working on a full feature movie here in Saskatoon. It's about a surf in scientist who plays rockabilly / surf bass. We were asked to help out so the answer was an immediate yes!

First, Clem offered up bass lessons to the star guy so the playing would look real. This guy (who's name I will post later..) did a great job and looked like a natural.... maybe if the acting doesn't work out we can find him a gig.

Then we offered up our tunes. This let's them avoid having to deal with license issues from major music labels and so forth. For us this gets our tunes into another venue and will help the launch of the new cd.

Then came the shooting of our parts! We were playing the part of a band in a club (The Fez, formerly the Roxy) where I got to shout out a couple of lines, then the guy comes up and plays.

The whole experience was awesome! I actually have a new found appreciation for actors and set people working on films. It really is a lot of work!
